About the Pastor:
Background: Pastor Pete Metzger is the son of a pastor and has lived in Wisconsin, Montana, Michigan and Bulgaria, where his father served as pastor and seminary professor.
Education: Pete attended Luther Preparatory (High) School in Wisconsin, Martin Luther College in Minnesota, and graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in 2013. During his seminary training, he spent a year of pastoral internship under the leadership of Rev. Adam Mueller at Peace Lutheran Church in Kokomo, Indiana.
Work and Family: In the Spring of 2013, Pastor Metzger was assigned to serve as Associate Pastor at First Lutheran Church in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, where he faithfully served for 5 years. Two years after being assigned, he married his wife Lydia, a graduate of the Music School of the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
In July of 2018, Pete and Lydia moved to St. Albert, AB to serve his second congregation, St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Pastor Metzger enjoys sports of all kinds, especially exploring the wonders of God’s creation in the Canadian Rockies with his wife, Lydia.
