About the Pastor:
Background: Pastor Daniel Habben was born in 1971 in Tokyo, Japan. He is the third of four children of Missionary Kermit and Margie Habben, who have served the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) church in Japan for 35 years.
Education: Daniel attended a WELS high school and college in Wisconsin, graduating in 1993. He went on to attend the Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary, a 4-year program that includes a year of vicaring (interning). He spent his vicar year at Christ the Lord Lutheran Church in Houston, Texas.
Work and Family: Before returning for his final year of Seminary, Pastor Habben spent 2 years as an emergency teacher and dorm parent at a WELS preparatory high school in Wisconsin. There he met Sarah, a fellow teacher, whom he married after his graduation from Seminary in 1999.
In July of 1999, Daniel and Sarah moved to St. Albert, AB to serve at his first parish, St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church. They have four children.
Pastor Habben enjoys participating in sports of all kinds; he plays soccer, jogs and keeps in shape by scrambling the neighbouring peaks in Jasper and Banff, Alberta. In the past he has also enjoyed coaching high school basketball, soccer, and baseball.
Lower impact activities include photography and playing the trombone.

About the Staff Minister:
Background: Staff Minister Stuht was born in 1968 in San Antonio, Texas where his father was stationed in the U.S. Air Force. His family then moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Later his family moved to Arvada, Colorado where they settled.
Education: Dave graduated from Arvada High School then joined the U.S. Navy where he served for four years. He then went back to school to be trained as an x-ray tech where he worked in various hospitals for 14 years. Then as a second career man went back to school to attend Martin Luther College to join the ministry. He graduated in 2006 from the Staff Ministry program with a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in practical theology.
Family: Dave and Sharon recently celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary. They have been blessed with four children.
The Stuht family moved to St. Albert to serve the St. Peter congregation in 2006. Dave's primary duties as Staff Minister is outreach and youth.
Dave's hobbies are riding motorcycles and watching/playing CFL & NFL football.
